IJA Holds the First Nutri-Idol 2009

        The Infant Jesus Academy Arts and Trade Department recently held the very first Nutri-Idol singing competition. The contest, open to Grades Four to Six pupils and First and Second Year High School students, was based on the famous reality TV show American Idol. Each class in Grades 4 – 6 and Years I – II levels field in their best singers, as only one representative from each grade/year level will enter the Final round. In the Final round, the winner in the grade school category was declared the Grade School Idol and the winner in the high school level was named the High School Idol. Winners were chosen based on 50% talent and 50% ticket votes.

        The competition was greatly supported by the student body as the students kept on buying tickets for their bets. The tickets also served as raffle entry which was drawn on the Finals Day.

        Jeffrey Hidalgo, an original member of the singing group Smokey Mountain; Ms. Anezka April Alvarez, a singer and entrepreneur; and Mr. Bien Rivera, an events manager, were the judges for the said competition.

        Angelica John P. Ordoñez of 6 - Makatao was declared the Grade School Idol while Kurt William Anthony R. Lugtu of I - St. Cherubiel was named the High School Idol.
